Young Americans today are the first generation in our country’s history to face a future in which they’ll be worse off than their parents. We’re strapped with student debt, stagnant wages, and overwhelming uncertainty over how to pay for childcare or afford a home.
We also know it doesn’t have to be this way. At NextGen, we’re mobilizing young people to build an economy that works for all of us.
Young people, and especially young people of color, will be hit hardest by the impacts of climate change. Climate disaster is already at our doorstep, and it is imperative to transition to 100 percent clean energy before it’s too late.

Americans under 35 are the most diverse generation in American history. Young people have confronted our country’s legacy of systemic racism and oppression with a sense of bravery and commitment unseen since the Civil Rights Movement.

NextGen is raising awareness of rampant voter suppression and the ongoing efforts in some states and Washington, DC, to suppress the power of young Americans, people of color, and the working class.
